This Web Story features Marcelite J. Harris, former Major General of the Air Force. Born in 1943, she went on to serve in the Air Force for 32 years, retiring in 1997. She paved the way for many women to follow in her footsteps, serving as the first female aircraft maintenance officer, first female director of maintenance, and as one of the two first female air officers commanding at the Air Force Academy. Harris passed away on September 7, 2018. We honor her service.
